In the 15th minute, Joel Garcia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amílcar Guerreiro. The goal made the score 2-0. When Joel Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Nabais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Garcia couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Nabais's Artur Moniz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílcar Guerreiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 23 played minutes Melgaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Moniz. After a defensive mix-up in Melgaco FC's zone, Joel Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílcar Guerreiro came out of the goal and Joel Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Miranda having to interfere. Artur Moniz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Nabais's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 36 minutes into the game, Melgaco FC's Emanuel Fonseca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Miranda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A collision led to Melgaco FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Hélder Ramos hit a great ball. Joel Garcia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Amílcar Guerreiro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 46th minute, Joel Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Melgaco FC's Hélder Ramos got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Simões to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulo Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Melgaco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nabais the free kick. Paulo Simões was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Paulo Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Joel Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute.
