The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Caminha's Adolfo Borba got a free kick in the 9th minute. Caminha's Joaquim Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fábio Santarém in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Carvalho saved Penteado FC from getting behind. Armindo Andrade hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Alexandre Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Penteado FC's Abel Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Santarém in the 34th minute of play. Alberto Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Pacheco having to interfere. In the 37th minute, José Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fábio Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Abel Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Cunha to make the kick off. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Penteado FC's goalkeeper Abel Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Santarém. When Afonso Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penteado FC's protests and gave Afonso Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. If Fábio Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Fábio Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Caminha's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Cunha came free, but Joaquim Pacheco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Penteado FC's Afonso Monteiro got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Afonso Monteiro off the ground. After recieving a nice pass, Caminha's Alexandre Borges tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
