The referee ignored Contencas FC's protests and gave Amílcar Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Contencas FC's Amílcar Freitas got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Catassol's goalkeeper Francisco Figueiredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Ricardo Domingues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Duarte Anjos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Vasco Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasco Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37thth minute of the game Ricardo Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Contencas FC's Duarte Anjos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Vasco Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lúcio Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the game, Vasco Domingues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Francisco Figueiredo. Vasco Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. In the 46th minute, Vasco Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Francisco Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasco Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th match minute, SC Catassol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Leal to maneuver through the defense. Duarte Anjos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 3-2. José Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duarte Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Contencas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Vasco Domingues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vasco Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Francisco Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Delgado in the 82nd minute of the match. When SC Catassol's Ricardo Domingues in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Contencas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Catassol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
