After 12 played minutes Carneiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Melo. Filipe Delgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Carneiro in the 19th minute of play. Carneiros FC's Hugo Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Pedroso in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carneiros FC's Fernando Martins got a free kick in the 34th minute. Bento Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Filipe Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carneiros FC's Carlos Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The Vela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
