Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Fernando Correia hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Bernardo Assunção hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Malhadinhas FC's Afonso Miranda tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Mota in the 9th minute of play forced Engal FC's goalkeeper Basílio Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernando Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basílio Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Coimbra's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Joel Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Lima having to interfere. If Rui Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Malhadinhas FC's zone, Fernando Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Vaz came out of the goal and Fernando Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Engal FC's Basílio Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Engal FC from getting a goal against them. After 45th play minutes Joel Torres shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Basílio Lima and just under the crossbar into goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Vale was the one to do the kick off. Basílio Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the Engal FC defense, Joel Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio Lima. The Engal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Lima should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Engal FC's Fernando Correia got a free kick in the 65th minute. Joel Torres's late challenge caught a Engal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Torres helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Malhadinhas FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joel Torres hit a great ball. Marco Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Correia in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Mota in the 78th minute of play forced Engal FC's goalkeeper Basílio Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso Miranda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Basílio Lima. Engal FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Malhadinhas FC's Joel Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Joel Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jorge Coimbra came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Malhadinhas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Coimbra couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Malhadinhas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Engal FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
