Gustavo Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Domingues in the 5th minute of play. Afonso Aleixo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eusébio Oliveira having to make a save. When SC Surgacaes's Carlos Paredes in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Padescas's goalie prevented a goal. Eusébio Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Aleixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eusébio Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Afonso Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Domingues in the 28th minute of play forced SC Surgacaes's goalkeeper Gustavo Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingos Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Antunes having to interfere. After 39 minutes, Paulo Henriques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Padescas and the SC Surgacaes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paulo Henriques hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Domingos Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Antunes was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. SC Surgacaes's Gustavo Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SC Surgacaes from getting a goal against them. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domingos Domingues made a kick off. Gustavo Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Garcia in the 57th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, SC Surgacaes's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Anjos came free, but Gustavo Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Antunes having to interfere. SC Surgacaes's Gustavo Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Domingues in the 72nd minute of play. When Diamantino Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Padescas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Garcia couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Diamantino Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Antunes was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. 77 minutes into the game, Rafael Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Surgacaes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Padescas the free kick. In the 78th match minute, SC Surgacaes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Brito to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Surgacaes's goalkeeper Gustavo Antunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ricardo Ferro hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the match, Carlos Paredes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eusébio Oliveira. Padescas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Paredes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ricardo Ferro's late challenge caught a Padescas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Ferro helped the player get up and apologised. When Domingos Domingues got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Padescas. The SC Surgacaes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Surgacaes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
