After some careless play in the Mucelao defense, Ricardo Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaspar Leite. The Mucelao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaspar Leite should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Ricardo Rocha could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Gaspar Leite however easily saved by the left post. Jacinto Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Fonseca having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Jacinto Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mucelao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Setúbal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the game, Jacinto Setúbal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mário Fonseca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Mucelao getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alexandre Miranda hit a great ball. After 23 minutes, Alfredo Amaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Ameixede and the Mucelao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfredo Amaro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Jacinto Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Amaro in the 34th minute of play forced Mucelao's goalkeeper Gaspar Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Fonseca having to interfere. If Cláudio Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mucelao's Gaspar Leite got control of the ball when Ricardo Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Mucelao were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Soares was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Jacinto Setúbal from a close distance when the talented Mário Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. SC Ameixede's players were relieved. Jacinto Setúbal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Fonseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Jacinto Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Fonseca having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Ameixede's Emanuel Gaspar got a free kick in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Soares in the 80th minute of play forced SC Ameixede's goalkeeper Mário Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 minutes, Afonso Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Ameixede and the Mucelao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Afonso Almeida hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Cláudio Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Mário Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, SC Ameixede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. When Ricardo Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Ameixede's protests and gave Ricardo Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th match minute, SC Ameixede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Rocha to maneuver through the defense. After 89 played minutes Mucelao got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Neves. When SC Ameixede's Alfredo Amaro, in the 91st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for SC Ameixede. In the 96th minute, Mucelao's Emanuel Neves seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Emanuel Neves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mucelao protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Emanuel Neves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Mucelao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Ameixede:s goal. Mucelao were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Ameixede to leave the ground with a draw.
