Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Paulo Matias made the kick off and thus started the match. Carlos Brás's late challenge caught a Moucheira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Brás helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Moucheira booed when Merciana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Brás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Matias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delfim Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Armindo Assunção tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Matias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Resende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Merciana's Armindo Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Matias in the 18th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Moucheira got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Faro. When Merciana's Filipe Silva in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moucheira's goalie prevented a goal. 25 minutes into the game, Delfim Mota recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armindo Assunção. Delfim Mota showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 28th minute Joaquim Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Merciana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lourenço Moura to maneuver through the defense. When Filipe Silva came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Merciana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Silva couldn't finish the play. Moucheira's Rui Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Brito in the 35th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Filipe Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merciana's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Resende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joaquim Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Martins fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moucheira's protests and gave José Martins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Paulo Matias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Brás hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filipe Silva made a kick off. Moucheira's José Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Delfim Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Moucheira's Delfim Mota in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merciana's goalie prevented a goal. In the 70th minute, Delfim Mota ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armindo Assunção was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Filipe Silva came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Merciana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Silva couldn't finish the play. Armindo Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Joaquim Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Merciana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Brito to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 84 minutes, Paulo Matias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moucheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Matias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Delfim Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The attack was good, but when Paulo Matias in the 89th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Armindo Assunção took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Armindo Assunção tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moucheira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
