Cristiano Pedroso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute Armindo Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Guerreiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Armindo Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Oliveira Leite sped through Trute FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Guerreiro. After some careless play in the Trute FC defense, João Miranda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Guerreiro. The Trute FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Guerreiro should have stopped the shot. Daniel Domingues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonçalo Moniz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Cristiano Pedroso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cristiano Pedroso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Domingues showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 47 minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Domingues made a kick off. João Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Vaz in the 54th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Calicas FC's Oliveira Leite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lúcio Gomes's late challenge caught a Trute FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Calicas FC. The referee gave Trute FC a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Amílcar Ferro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Calicas FC's Cristiano Pedroso. 2-3. After 77 minutes, Catarino Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calicas FC and the Trute FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After taking down the ball on Trute FC's corner Amílcar Ferro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cristiano Pedroso quite easily take care of the ball.
