Abel Bessa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of SC Cerdeirinhas booed when Arge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Bessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Alexandre Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ricardo Guarda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Cerdeirinhas's Abel Bessa got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Neto struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Alexandre Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Cerdeirinhas. Alexandre Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Bessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Alexandre Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arge's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If André Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Barros's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ricardo Guarda firmly grabbed it by the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Luz to make the kick off. Joaquim Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bento Dias hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Joaquim Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Alexandre Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cerdeirinhas's zone, Alexandre Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Guarda came out of the goal and Alexandre Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Guarda having to interfere. Abel Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Oliveira having to interfere. Ricardo Guarda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Luz in the 76th minute of play. Joaquim Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Dantas in the 87th minute of play forced SC Cerdeirinhas's goalkeeper Ricardo Guarda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Alexandre Amaro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Guarda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, SC Cerdeirinhas's Alexandre Oliveira threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abel Bessa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
