Carlos Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Rui Leiria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olegueira FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Monteiros the free kick. Rui Leiria hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. SC Monteiros were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Olegueira FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vítor Lisboa took the corner. Manuel Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Cláudio Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Vale was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Rodrigo Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Gueifão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Assunção, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Armando Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Brito got free with Cláudio Melo in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After 74 minutes, Álvaro Trindade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Monteiros and the Olegueira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Rodrigo Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Olegueira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. Olegueira FC's Rodrigo Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonçalo Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Gueifão having to interfere. Carlos Gonçalves got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 81st minute, Carlos Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in SC Monteiros's zone, Rodrigo Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Gueifão came out of the goal and Rodrigo Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodrigo Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Gueifão having to interfere. A collision led to SC Monteiros getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Manuel Vale hit a great ball. If Rodrigo Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 96 minutes, Manuel Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Monteiros and the Olegueira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
