Vasco Tavares's late challenge caught a Algar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vasco Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Quintiaes's Vasco Tavares got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 8th match minute, Algar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Antunes to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Pires having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Jorge Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Algar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Leiria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Amaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nuno Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Brás in the 18th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Quintiaes's Vicente Brás slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nuno Pires. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. A hard shot 27 in the game by José Reis from a close distance when the talented Nuno Pires managed to make a qualified save. Algar's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Algar's António Monteiro got a free kick in the 30th minute. Nuno Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Brás, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Vicente Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nuno Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 49th minute the ball was on its way in behind Algar's goalkeeper Nuno Pires, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Leiria was the one to do the kick off. Cláudio Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Eusébio Amaro made a huge save. Algar's Vasco Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasco Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute of the match Mariano Santos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nuno Pires showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, José Reis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Nuno Pires was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vasco Carvalho in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eusébio Amaro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Domingos Morais fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Algar's protests and gave Domingos Morais a yellow card for diving instead. Domingos Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The long shot by Lucas Borba in the 82nd minute really tested Eusébio Amaro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Algar players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Quintiaes.
