Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when António Martins made the kick off which started today's match. Humberto Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Rafael Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 4 played minutes Mar got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Melo. Humberto Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Amaro having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Humberto Lopes in the 15th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The supporters of Mar booed when Mariquiteira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bento Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrique Paredes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mariquiteira FC's Manuel Reis got a free kick in the 24th minute. The long shot by Hugo Soares in the 25th minute really tested Miguel Silva's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sebastião Abreu charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastião Abreu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute of the match Bento Martins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Amaro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Faro in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Amaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Mar's Miguel Silva threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from António Martins, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Miguel Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Martins in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Joel Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Óscar Neves, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Lopes made a kick off. Rafael Amaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Lopes's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. If Viriato Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viriato Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Amaro having to interfere. Mar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrique Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute António Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mar's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
