The supporters of Estalagem booed when SC Abecao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Nuno Campos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Eusébio Esteves struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Vicente Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Abecao. Estalagem's Vicente Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Estalagem from getting a goal against them. After 36 minutes, José Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estalagem and the SC Abecao players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Estalagem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Moreira to maneuver through the defense. After 42 played minutes SC Abecao got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Borba. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Campos to make the kick off. In the 72nd match minute, Estalagem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Domingues to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Campos in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, SC Abecao's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after João Carvalho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, SC Abecao's Afonso Maia got control of the ball when João Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Eusébio Esteves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Barbosa. Estalagem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusébio Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Nuno Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Barbosa having to interfere. Nuno Campos took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vicente Barbosa. Vicente Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Campos in the 96th minute of play forced Estalagem's goalkeeper Vicente Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SC Abecao players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
