Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Eduardo Luz made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 4thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Fernando Pedroso would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Fernando Pedroso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Roriz FC's Jacinto Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Pedroso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 9th minute, Jacinto Rocha fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 19 minutes Roriz FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulo Paredes who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Paulo Paredes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Roriz FC's Eusébio Lisboa did a great save. Eduardo Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fernando Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Rui Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Lisboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes, Jacinto Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roriz FC and the Horta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Roriz FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Rocha. Horta's Fernando Pedroso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Rocha in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Roriz FC booed when Horta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Eduardo Luz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Henrique Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eduardo Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Fernando Pedroso made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Horta's zone, Eduardo Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Pedroso came out of the goal and Eduardo Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Monteiro made a kick off. Jacinto Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Pedroso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacinto Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Monteiro in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusébio Lisboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68th minute, Óscar Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Roriz FC's goalkeeper Eusébio Lisboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacinto Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Pedroso having to interfere. Horta's Fernando Pedroso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Rocha in the 76th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Horta got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Paredes. Henrique Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Lisboa having to interfere. If Rui Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
