Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling António Amaral in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernandes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Joaquim Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Gaspar in the 12th minute of play forced SC Alqueidao's goalkeeper Raul Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Carlos Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Rodrigues having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, SC Alqueidao's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Moniz came free, but Raul Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eusébio Barros took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Fernandes. Carlos Fernandes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Bento Maia, 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 54 minutes of play, SC Alqueidao's Eusébio Barros made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! António Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. The SC Alqueidao fans cheered their team off the field, for while Neiva had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
