Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when José Sá took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Espigao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cerejo:s goal. Fernando Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jorge Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Cerejo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Baptista couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Bernardo Andrade fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jorge Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Moutinho having to interfere. The audience was convinced that José Sá's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino Moutinho was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. José Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Nogueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cerejo's Nuno Gomes got a free kick in the 41st minute. Bernardo Andrade who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Fernando Nogueira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bernardo Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Matos made the kick off in the second half. If António Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Espigao's Daniel Matos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Nogueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cerejo's zone, Bernardo Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Nogueira came out of the goal and Bernardo Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Matos in the 63rd minute of play forced Cerejo's goalkeeper Fernando Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Monteiro's late challenge caught a Espigao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diamantino Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. When Daniel Matos came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Espigao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Matos couldn't finish the play. After 71 minutes, Daniel Matos made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cerejo's Fernando Nogueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 73 played minutes Espigao got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Castro. Cerejo's José Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cerejo's Jorge Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Faro hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Jorge Baptista's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Diamantino Moutinho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nuno Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Espigao booed when Cerejo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bernardo Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cerejo's Fernando Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Matos in the 94th minute of play. In the 97th minute Bernardo Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cerejo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Espigao.
