Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Domingues to make the kick off. Luís Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Lopes having to interfere. Joaquim Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Armindo Carvalho hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The SC Corticois players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
