The supporters of Urcinas booed when SC Agualva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Urcinas's André Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Gomes in the 8th minute of play forced SC Agualva's goalkeeper Mariano Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute André Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Bessa having to interfere. André Bessa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasco Matos in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Rui Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Urcinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 1-0 became the score in the 41st minute when André Baptista elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Jorge Guarda came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the SC Agualva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Guarda couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Baptista was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Artur Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The SC Agualva fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Marques should have stopped the shot. Amílcar Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílcar Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Agualva! In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Urcinas. Joaquim Fontes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mariano Marques. 4-0. Afonso Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mariano Marques. SC Agualva's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vasco Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. André Bessa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Agualva's Jorge Guarda got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Bessa made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Jorge Guarda sent off a good shot on target. In the 91st match minute, SC Agualva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Jesus to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, André Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Guarda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Bessa having to make a save. SC Agualva's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
