The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Carneiro during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Pacheco in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Valezim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Pacheco came free, but Carlos Moniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Valezim FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Valezim FC's Óscar Dantas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gonçalo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Dantas in the 24th minute of play forced SC Toninha's goalkeeper Mariano Brás to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Óscar Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Mariano Brás tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Óscar Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filipe Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filipe Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SC Toninha getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Filipe Baptista hit a great ball. Valezim FC's Gonçalo Ferreira managed to work through SC Toninha's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Gonçalo Ferreira dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When José Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valezim FC's protests and gave José Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th match minute, Valezim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. André Rodrigues didn't quite understand what happened when in the 41 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Pedro Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Óscar Dantas to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Pedro Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Moniz was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. During the 55th minute of the match Cândido Vieira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cândido Vieira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 60th minute, Pedro Amaral fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Carlos Moniz, passed just outside the right post. After 66 minutes of play, Valezim FC's Gonçalo Ferreira made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Brás was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute of the match, Pedro Amaral tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carlos Moniz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gonçalo Ferreira scored 3-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mariano Brás, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Valezim FC's zone, Nuno Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Moniz came out of the goal and Nuno Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The attack was good, but when Manuel Pacheco in the 85th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Manuel Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gonçalo Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Toninha's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
