Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Jacinto Barbosa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Varatojo FC's António Barros. António Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abel Coimbra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cândido Gomes's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. The audience was convinced that João Pinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Coimbra was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Jacinto Barbosa took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised António Barros. António Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. António Barros made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Jacinto Barbosa sent off a good shot on target. After 19 played minutes Varatojo FC got a freekick which was hit by Bento Barros. Jacinto Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. João Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Amílcar Pedroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Coimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vicente Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Pinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cândido Gomess short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Abel Coimbra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 52 played minutes SC Sonhim got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Alves. 53 minutes into the match, SC Sonhim's goal looked a bit too open when João Pinto came free, but Abel Coimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SC Sonhim defense, Cândido Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Coimbra. The SC Sonhim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Coimbra should have stopped the shot. In the 63rdth minute of the game João Pinto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Sonhim's Abel Coimbra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Varatojo FC got a corner. SC Sonhim's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodrigo Amaral ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 69th minute, Raul Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Pinto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Coimbra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When Vicente Reis came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Sonhim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Reis couldn't finish the play.
