Eusébio Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Coimbra having to interfere. Vicente Reis succeeded in the game's 5th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. António Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Reis in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Fermil getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Tiago Teixeira hit a great ball. Jacinto Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. António Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Sonhim were furious when Artur Santos was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Sonhim! Tiago Teixeira hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Abel Coimbra, was totally fooled by Fermil's Viriato Cruz, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Eusébio Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Coimbra having to interfere. Fermil's José Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raul Aguiar hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After having played for 47 minutes, José Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fermil's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jacinto Barbosa to strike the kick off in the second half. SC Sonhim's Abel Coimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Cardoso in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Fermil got a freekick which was hit by José Faria. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Barbosa got free with António Costa in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute José Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Coimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, José Faria notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of SC Sonhim's Abel Coimbra. Abel Coimbra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute, Eusébio Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, SC Sonhim's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Cardoso came free, but Abel Coimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, José Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fermil's supporters rose to their feet, but José Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Coimbra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Barbosa got free with António Costa in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 81 minutes, Tiago Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fermil and the SC Sonhim players grew even worse after the yellow card. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fermil's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. João Moutinho was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Sonhim's players had a chance to rest. Jacinto Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Abel Coimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Silva in the 88th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Sonhim's Jacinto Barbosa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of António Costa. That made the score 3-2 after 91 minutes of play. Fermil were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Sonhim for a fine match.
