In the 7thth minute of the game Américo Nogueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roca's Joel Resende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Tavares made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Nuno Borges sent off a good shot on target. 11 minutes into the match, Roca's Inácio Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Roca's Inácio Azevedo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joel Tavares. Joel Tavares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 16th minute, José Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard and well directed shot from Adolfo Martins led 17 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. SC Bolhos's Joel Tavares became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-0. In the 23rd minute, Pedro Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Rocha's late challenge caught a SC Bolhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 minutes Roca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tiago Simões who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on SC Bolhos's corner Tiago Simões fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joel Resende quite easily take care of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, SC Bolhos's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Azevedo came free, but Joel Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When José Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Bolhos's protests and gave José Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes SC Bolhos got a freekick which was hit by José Fernandes. Ricardo Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Joel Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Rodrigues in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Roca getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Pedro Rocha hit a great ball. After 42 minutes, Armindo Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Bolhos and the Roca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Inácio Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Azevedo to make the kick off. Ricardo Rodrigues ran back to his position shaking his head. Nuno Borges's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Bolhos's Américo Nogueira got a free kick in the 95th minute. Nuno Borges took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joel Tavares. Joel Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0.
