Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Manuel Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cantomil 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sameice the free kick. The referee gave Sameice a penalty, 41 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jacinto Assis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cantomil 's Hugo Bessa. 2-1. After some careless play in the Sameice defense, Gabriel Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Cardoso. The Sameice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Cardoso should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
A collision led to Sameice getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Cristóvão Veiga hit a great ball. Mariano Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Lopes helped the player get up and apologised. Mariano Silva came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Abel Cardoso could save by the left post. In the 61st match minute, Sameice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Moniz to maneuver through the defense. If Mariano Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Mariano Silva sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Oliveira Brás got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Mariano Silva could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Abel Cardoso however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Eduardo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cantomil 's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 96 minutes, Mariano Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cantomil 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cantomil players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
