Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gustavo Gueifão made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the game, Tomás Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Arieiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varejeira the free kick. Nuno Ramos made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Mariano Faro sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Varejeira's zone, Fernando Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Dantas came out of the goal and Fernando Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the game, Gustavo Gueifão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Abel Dantas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gustavo Gueifão struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Abel Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Arieiro. In the 29th minute, Henrique Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 31 played minutes Varejeira got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Coelho. In the 32nd minute of the match Cristiano Nascimento shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abel Dantas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Gustavo Gueifão came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the SC Arieiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Gueifão couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute Fernando Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Dantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Gueifão in the 38th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Varejeira's Mariano Faro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nuno Ramos. That made the score 1-1 after 40 minutes of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Rodrigo Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varejeira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Silva's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Faro made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Gustavo Gueifão took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Abel Dantas to make any attempt to save it. Manuel Amaro kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. SC Arieiro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristiano Nascimento in the 58th minute. The corner ended in Cristiano Nascimento almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Varejeira's Abel Dantas did a great save. Rodrigo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Ramos having to interfere. Abel Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Andrade in the 67th minute of the match. SC Arieiro's Nuno Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Moreira in the 69th minute of play. Mariano Faro scored 2-2 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nuno Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute Fernando Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Rodrigo Moreira made a precise shot to the right of Nuno Ramos. SC Arieiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Mariano Faro took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nuno Ramos. Nuno Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Nuno Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Moreira in the 84th minute of play. Gustavo Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Nuno Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Arieiro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
