Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rodrigo Costa kicked off to start the match. Amílcar Santos was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and José Soares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. José Soares really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Sérgio Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Pampilhosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Jesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigo Costa struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Amílcar Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pampilhosa. 16 minutes into the game, Armando Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gigante's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Pampilhosa the free kick. In the 16th match minute, Gigante was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Dantas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SC Pampilhosa booed when Gigante was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Pampilhosa's Gil Neves tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Delfim Matias took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amílcar Santos. Gigante's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cristiano Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th match minute, SC Pampilhosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Campos to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Guarda was the one to do the kick off. If João Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amílcar Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Costa in the 62nd minute of play. João Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Cristiano Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute of the match, Ricardo Castro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cristiano Borba saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. SC Pampilhosa's Cristiano Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save SC Pampilhosa from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute José Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílcar Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tiago Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the game, Rafael Guarda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gigante's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Pampilhosa the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Rafael Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Pampilhosa's Cristiano Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Guarda in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, João Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Cristiano Borba managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Gigante's João Martins fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. João Martins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gigante's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
