Raul Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Óscar Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Brito during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 19 played minutes Varzeas FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Brito. Jorge Araújo's late challenge caught a Varzeas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Travancas got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Araújo. With a little luck, Varzeas FC's Armando Paredes got control of the ball when Carlos Borba tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Alexandre Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varzeas FC's goalkeeper Armando Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute Raul Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
