After having played for 12 minutes, Diogo Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alqueve FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Barosa the free kick. Albertino Coimbra, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 20th minute, Francisco Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Ramos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélder Setúbal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Hélder Setúbal came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Barosa's José Ramos. But to his dismay, José Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Hélder Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Ramos in the 31st minute of play. Alfredo Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Júlio Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alqueve FC. Júlio Guerreiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 38 minutes, Jacinto Moniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Barosa and the Alqueve FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Barosa's Jacinto Moniz got a free kick in the 38th minute. If Alfredo Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, SC Barosa's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Carvalho came free, but Júlio Guerreiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Carvalho took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júlio Guerreiro. Júlio Guerreiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 65 minutes into the match, SC Barosa's Vítor Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélder Setúbal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Júlio Guerreiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vítor Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder Setúbal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. Júlio Guerreiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Alqueve FC's Hélder Setúbal got control of the ball when Vítor Gonçalves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alfredo Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
