Alexandre Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Fernando Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Assenta FC's Fernando Paredes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Assenta FC from getting a goal against them. Fernando Paredes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Pinto in the 10th minute. Alexandre Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Fernando Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Júlio Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. Emanuel Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 22nd match minute, SC Praya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Praya's goalkeeper Emanuel Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, SC Praya's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Barros came free, but Emanuel Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Emanuel Paredes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonçalo Sousa in the 75th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Brito during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Assenta FC booed when SC Praya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Pinto scored 1-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Paredes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vítor Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Praya's Vítor Gonçalves got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute Nuno Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 played minutes SC Praya got a freekick which was hit by António Luz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Barros in the 93rd minute of play forced SC Praya's goalkeeper Emanuel Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Assenta FC's Nuno Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Joel Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assenta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
