In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Toninha FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Nogueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Alexandre Aleixo managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Toninha FC's Armando Simões fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 23 minutes of play, Babau's Alberto Santos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Nogueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Babau's Alexandre Aleixo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Babau from getting a goal against them. After the first half Babau were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sebastião Resende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alexandre Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Sebastião Resende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58thth minute of the game Armando Simões who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Babau's Alexandre Aleixo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Babau getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Catarino Dias hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Babau's zone, Sebastião Resende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Aleixo came out of the goal and Sebastião Resende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Babau's Alberto Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Toninha FC booed when Babau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Catarino Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Alberto Santos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricardo Nogueira, 0-2. Toninha FC's Ricardo Nogueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Toninha FC from getting a goal against them. With 92 minutes on the clock, Raul Gueifão commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card.
