In the 4thth minute of the game Augusto Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clareanes FC's António Barbosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 5th minute, Catarino Aguiar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alexandre Aleixo. The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of Clareanes FC booed when Babau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio Jesus got free with Alexandre Aleixo in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Clareanes FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Joel Moura hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Raul Gueifão sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Barbosa skillfully saved the ball. Catarino Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 23 played minutes Clareanes FC got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Jesus. Eusébio Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Alexandre Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, Carlos Pedroso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clareanes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Babau the free kick. A collision led to Clareanes FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Carlos Pedroso hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Macedo in the 34th minute of play forced Clareanes FC's goalkeeper António Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Barbosa having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Augusto Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Babau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 43 played minutes Clareanes FC got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Viegas. If Augusto Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Macedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Augusto Macedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Barbosa was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 57th minute, Xavier Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Pedroso hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. António Barbosa made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Xavier Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute, Eusébio Jesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
