After having played for 12 minutes, Amadeu Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sérgio Cruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of António Viana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 15 played minutes SC Peroledo got a freekick which was hit by Simão Luz. Sérgio Cruz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, António Viana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sérgio Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but António Viana made a huge save. The SC Peroledo fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when SC Peroledo's Amadeu Vale looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, SC Peroledo's Paulo Macedo got a free kick in the 26th minute. António Viana was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joaquim Pires. António Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Macedo was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to SC Peroledo getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Paulo Macedo hit a great ball. Sérgio Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristiano Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. António Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simão Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Lombardos FC booed when SC Peroledo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Viana having to interfere. If Cristiano Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

During the 56th minute of the match Simão Luz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Simão Luz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Sérgio Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Sérgio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
