Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Faria to make the kick off. Gional FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Heitor Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When David Simões fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gional FC's protests and gave David Simões a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa FC booed when Gional FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mário Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Fernando Campos made a great header on Gional FC's corner, it was just that Costa FC's Pedro Matos managed to reach the ball for a save. Gional FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
