Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Manuel Torres took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Carvalheiros's Manuel Borges got control of the ball when David Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manuel Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raul Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carvalheiros's goalkeeper Manuel Borges, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carvalheiros's Manuel Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Magalhães in the 16th minute of play. David Amorim struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Manuel Borges didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saldonha FC. Manuel Borges made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when David Amorim sent off a good shot on target. After 24 played minutes, Saldonha FC's Sandro Assunção shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manuel Borges came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Saldonha FC reached it. Abel Santarém hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Saldonha FC's Carlos Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Torres in the 26th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Luís Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saldonha FC and the Carvalheiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Saldonha FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luís Rocha hit a great ball. When Carvalheiros's Manuel Torres in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saldonha FC's goalie prevented a goal. When Manuel Torres came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Carvalheiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Torres couldn't finish the play. In the 37th match minute, Carvalheiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Santarém to maneuver through the defense. David Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Carlos Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Coimbra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raul Magalhães was the one to do the kick off. Fábio Resende hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Raul Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Borges having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Amorim in the 55th minute of play forced Carvalheiros's goalkeeper Manuel Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Carvalheiros's André Aleixo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Nunes. That made the score 0-1 after 56 minutes of play. After 61 played minutes Saldonha FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Rocha. 62 minutes into the match, Saldonha FC's goalkeeper Carlos Nunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Coimbra. Raul Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Manuel Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Torres in the 72nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Saldonha FC's zone, Rui Coimbra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Nunes came out of the goal and Rui Coimbra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Manuel Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Carvalheiros's Carlos Nunes threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from André Aleixo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 83rd minute Manuel Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Raul Magalhães notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Carvalheiros's Manuel Borges. Manuel Borges was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
