Jorge Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorge Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Soares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Rui Torres skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Jorge Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Agoncida's Jorge Vaz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Freitas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Agoncida booed when SC Passo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heitor Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Freitas having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Pires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Jorge Vaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomás Freitas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. SC Passo's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jorge Vaz 63 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Agoncida's zone, João Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Torres came out of the goal and João Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If João Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rui Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Agoncida defense, Abel Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Torres. The Agoncida fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Torres should have stopped the shot. João Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Torres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to SC Passo getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. David Cruz hit a great ball. When João Pires came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the SC Passo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pires couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SC Passo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
