If José Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão Morais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Américo Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diamantino Aleixo was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Manteigas FC's Cristóvão Morais got control of the ball when José Valente tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diamantino Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Delgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. With 59 minutes on the clock, Cristiano Fonseca commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Laurentim walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
