Mairos FC's Artur Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Mairos FC booed when Escouras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Assis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Viana in the 10th minute of play forced Mairos FC's goalkeeper Gaspar Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Nuno Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Gaspar made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Artur Dantas sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 22 minutes, Artur Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mairos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Francisco Leiria took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Marco Gaspar to make any attempt to save it. Marco Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Leite's late challenge caught a Mairos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Leite helped the player get up and apologised. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 54th match minute, Escouras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Santos to maneuver through the defense. If Gaspar Gueifão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Gueifão in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute Francisco Leiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artur Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Marco Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Miguel Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artur Dantas took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Gaspar. Marco Gaspar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Francisco Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Gaspar having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Escouras FC's Miguel Leite got a free kick in the 76th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertino Leal during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Mairos FC's Gaspar Araújo got control of the ball when Nuno Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Escouras FC's Marco Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Dantas in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to Escouras FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Miguel Leite hit a great ball. Gaspar Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaspar Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Mairos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
