The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomás Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Coelho scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Fernandes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomás Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Abel Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Santarém having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Gradil's Cláudio Alves got a free kick in the 19th minute. Arribao FC's Tomás Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when António Leite got free with Paulo Santarém in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Abel Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Coelho in the 28th minute of play forced SC Gradil's goalkeeper Abel Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Santarém having to interfere. António Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35thth minute of the game Emílio Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arribao FC's Paulo Santarém was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abel Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Paredes in the 37th minute of play. Miguel Freitas hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Miguel Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Gradil's Emílio Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. António Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Paulo Santarém tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Arribao FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emílio Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Miguel Paredes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Abel Fernandes made a huge save. In the 60th minute, Miguel Paredes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arribao FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Paulo Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Leite in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Tomás Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes Arribao FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Oliveira. Paulo Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Neto in the 80th minute of the match. Miguel Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Cabral's late challenge caught a Arribao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Coelho in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Fernandes saved SC Gradil from getting behind. In the 90th match minute, Arribao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Torres to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match, Bento Gaspar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abel Fernandes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
