With an all-out effort, Samodaes's José Neves threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedro Vale, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A hard shot 23 in the game by Nuno Anjos from a close distance when the talented José Neves managed to make a qualified save. Praganca's players were relieved. In the 24th minute of the match, Pedro Vale tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Neves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. José Neves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nuno Anjos in the 28th minute. José Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Vale in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Nuno Anjos could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which José Neves however easily saved by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pereira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Samodaes's João Esteves got a free kick in the 54th minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Jaime Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praganca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viriato Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Pedro Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Carneiro got free with Bernardo Simões in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Leiria hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Pedro Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Mário Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gaspar Matos fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Praganca's protests and gave Gaspar Matos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Praganca getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Gaspar Matos hit a great ball. Praganca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
