The supporters of Sarriao FC booed when Mougueira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Vítor Gaspar led 4 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Mougueira FC's Manuel Garcia became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. If Jorge Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xavier Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Barros in the 12th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that António Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xavier Martins was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Mougueira FC's Fábio Amaro got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Sarriao FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Basílio Antunes hit a great ball. Xavier Martins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fábio Amaro went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Fábio Amaro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mougueira FC's zone, Jorge Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Garcia came out of the goal and Jorge Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mougueira FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Bruno Esteves hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Mougueira FC defense, Rui Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Garcia. The Mougueira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Garcia should have stopped the shot. Rui Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Fontes in the 39th minute of the match. If Jorge Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Rui Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Xavier Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Amaro in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Mougueira FC's goalkeeper Manuel Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Fontes. In the 55th minute, António Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xavier Martins was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Fábio Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Xavier Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, one of Sarriao FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Fontes couldn't finish the play. Mougueira FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
