In the 15th minute of the match Gaspar Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nuno Moniz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Armando Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Abrantes's goal looked a bit too open when David Leão came free, but Nuno Moniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Abrantes's zone, Joel Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Moniz came out of the goal and Joel Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Joel Moreira came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Queimada FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Moreira couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Valente during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes Queimada FC got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Valente. 34 minutes into the game, Joel Moreira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nuno Moniz. Joel Moreira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Joel Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute, Domingos Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abrantes's Pedro Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Domingues to strike the kick off in the second half. If Armindo Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Delgado in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Pedro Domingues dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Marques, 1-1. During the 64th minute of the match Cristóvão Morais completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristóvão Morais a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Joel Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Abrantes's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Moreira came free, but Nuno Moniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Queimada FC's Joel Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nuno Moniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Moreira in the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Armando Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Queimada FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Moniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Queimada FC's goalkeeper José Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Joel Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Nuno Moniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 90th minute, Joel Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Torres hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Abrantes's Nuno Moniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Moreira in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that Queimada FC were the better team. Queimada FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
