To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cláudio Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delfim Dias to make the kick off. A collision led to Pateo FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Américo Almeida hit a great ball. If Rui Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pateo FC's Jorge Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Pateo FC from getting a goal against them. When Rui Porto came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Matosos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Porto couldn't finish the play. Delfim Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rui Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Jorge Almeida made a huge save. After 87 minutes of play, Pateo FC's Delfim Dias made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pateo FC's Jorge Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Pateo FC from getting a goal against them. If Cláudio Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Filipe Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
