He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zebral reached it. Ricardo Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Mariano Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Pereira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mariano Dias. SC Varzeas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With an all-out effort, SC Varzeas's Augusto Porto threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amílcar Barbosa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Miguel Brito succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 43rd minute Miguel Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Brito in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Ricardo Pereira made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Miguel Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zebral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 minutes of play, SC Varzeas's Nuno Freitas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Augusto Porto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mariano Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílcar Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nuno Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Augusto Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amílcar Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Zebral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bento Vale to maneuver through the defense. Nuno Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Mariano Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Pereira in the 87th minute of play. If Nuno Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 minutes, Amílcar Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Varzeas and the Zebral players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Zebral booed when SC Varzeas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílcar Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Varzeas's Amílcar Barbosa got a free kick in the 95th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Pereira in the 96th minute of play forced SC Varzeas's goalkeeper Mariano Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zebral walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
