Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Afonso Lopes kicked off to start the match. Afonso Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristiano Assunção in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute, André Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mariano Resende's late challenge caught a SC Caxaries's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Resende helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, one of Gaiteiras FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gaiteiras FC. In the 8th minute there was a penalty for SC Caxaries. Amadeu Azevedo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Afonso Freitas. 1-0. A collision led to SC Caxaries getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Bernardo Mendes hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the game, Afonso Jesus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gaiteiras FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Caxaries the free kick. Afonso Jesus kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. André Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Afonso Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Setúbal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Bernardo Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Afonso Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Assunção recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Bernardo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Caxaries's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristiano Assunção could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Afonso Freitas made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Gaiteiras FC's zone, Bernardo Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Freitas came out of the goal and Bernardo Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Mendes was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Lopes in the 52nd minute of play forced SC Caxaries's goalkeeper João Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SC Caxaries getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. José Aleixo hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the game, Cristiano Assunção cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Afonso Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Neves hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Gaiteiras FC's Pedro Moniz got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A hard and well directed shot from Amadeu Azevedo led 73 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Gaiteiras FC's Afonso Freitas became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 4-0. After 76 minutes, Rui Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Caxaries and the Gaiteiras FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Rui Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th match minute, SC Caxaries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Mendes to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Gaiteiras FC's Afonso Lopes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-1. Bernardo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Freitas having to interfere. João Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Gaiteiras FC's Afonso Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaiteiras FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
