Gustavo Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Dias in the 3rd minute of play. Alberto Domingues hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Ricardo Campos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Santarém, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Estanqueiro's Ricardo Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Santarém in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Ribeiro in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Campos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Sérgio Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estanqueiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Bruno Santarém fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estanqueiro's protests and gave Bruno Santarém a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Azevedo got free with Gustavo Andrade in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amílcar Setúbal hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Lanhezes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristóvão Santarém was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Campos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Estanqueiro's zone, André Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat.
