José Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in SC Tabua's zone, Paulo Delgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Tavares came out of the goal and Paulo Delgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Delgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Nuno Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Sandro Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Tabua and the Sesmo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Sandro Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Coimbra hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, José Viegas notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sesmo's Filipe Pinheiro. Filipe Pinheiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Miguel Porto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sesmo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If José Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertino Esteves hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, SC Tabua's Mariano Machado seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mariano Machado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Tabua protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mariano Machado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Sesmo booed when SC Tabua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Delgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nuno Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Viegas to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulo Delgado struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. José Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Pinheiro having to interfere. SC Tabua's Nuno Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Delgado in the 74th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, José Viegas notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sesmo's Filipe Pinheiro. Filipe Pinheiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If José Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sesmo's Filipe Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Viegas in the 89th minute of play. In the 97th minute, Miguel Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
