An unexpectedly hard shot by André Fonseca in the 7th minute of play forced Nora FC's goalkeeper Hélder Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Paulo Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Nora FC defense, Adolfo Viegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hélder Neto. The Nora FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélder Neto should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Nora FC booed when Mendes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Tiago Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tiago Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Adolfo Viegas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Magalhães in the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Adolfo Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mendes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adolfo Viegas struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Hélder Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mendes FC. Hélder Neto came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Mendes FC's Adolfo Viegas. But to his dismay, Adolfo Viegas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolfo Viegas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Gaspar Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nora FC and the Mendes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gaspar Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Diamantino Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Hélder Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Viegas in the 59th minute of play. Joaquim Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder Neto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiago Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Joaquim Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Torres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Teixeira having to make a save. Joaquim Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Torres in the 83rd minute of play. Pedro Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Joaquim Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
