Miguel Magalhães was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, SC Sujeira's Basílio Neto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heitor Machado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Miguel Assunção got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute of the match Henrique Rocha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cláudio Pereira skillfully saved the ball. Cláudio Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Assis in the 21st minute of the match. Heitor Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The supporters of SC Sujeira booed when Ariz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Assis in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Pereira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Miguel Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Ariz FC's goalkeeper Heitor Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artur Porto. SC Sujeira's Artur Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Basílio Neto to make the kick off. Heitor Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Neto in the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ariz FC's zone, Basílio Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heitor Machado came out of the goal and Basílio Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miguel Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cláudio Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Heitor Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes, Basílio Neto made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ariz FC's Heitor Machado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Assunção couldn't finish the play. If Álvaro Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Sujeira's Cláudio Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Assunção in the 72nd minute of play. Miguel Assunção sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 80 played minutes Ariz FC got a freekick which was hit by João Barbosa. Heitor Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Neto in the 86th minute of play. Cláudio Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro Assis in the 89th minute. SC Sujeira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
