Almeirim FC's Emanuel Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Gonçalves in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Almeirim FC's zone, Adolfo Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Barros came out of the goal and Adolfo Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Adolfo Pinheiro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Almeirim FC's Emanuel Barros. Emanuel Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, SC Guistolinha's António Nogueira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed António Nogueira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Guistolinha protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and António Nogueira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 16th minute, one of SC Guistolinha:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Guistolinha. If Raul Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Martins hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, SC Guistolinha's goalkeeper Raul Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Barbosa. Raul Cardoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Barbosa went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Jacinto Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Raul Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raul Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto Barbosa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Raul Cardoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carlos Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Guistolinha's Júlio Melo got a free kick in the 43rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Jacinto Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almeirim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Martins's late challenge caught a Almeirim FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Martins helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Guistolinha's Joel Martins got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Jorge Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raul Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Emanuel Barros made a huge save. In the 64th minute, Almeirim FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Raul Gonçalves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Martins got free with Emanuel Barros in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Raul Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Raul Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86thth minute of the game Jorge Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Guistolinha's Raul Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
