All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eusébio Assis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Favais FC's zone, Paulo Guarda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Aguiar came out of the goal and Paulo Guarda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd match minute, Favais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Moniz to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Eusébio Assis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Ribeiro was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. After 79 played minutes SC Cabecudo got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Guarda. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eusébio Assis during the 83rd minute.
